Wine Exam Prep FAQ

Which course should I start with?

If you are new to wine study, start with Foundations. If you already know the major grapes, regions and styles, Intermediate picks up from there, and Advanced assumes you know the Intermediate material.

How long does each course take?

About 2.5 hours each, including one timed mock exam. You can take the mock exams as many times as you like, and progress saves, so short sessions work well.

How do the mock exams work?

Each mock exam draws 50 questions from that course's question bank, spread across every topic, with an optional 60 minute clock. You get your score, results by topic and every missed question with why.

Is there a final test?

Yes. Each course closes with a 20 question final quiz. You need 14 right, 70 percent, to pass, and you can retake it as many times as you need. Lesson checks and mock exams do not count toward it.

What do I get when I pass?

A Learn Brands course completion certificate in your name for each course. Finish all three on the Complete Series and you also get the Wine Exam Prep Complete Series Certificate.

Is this connected to a wine exam provider?

No. Wine Exam Prep is a Learn Brands program with its own questions. It is not connected to, endorsed by or affiliated with any wine exam provider, and practice scores are a study guide, not a promise of any exam result.

Do I need anything special?

No. The courses run in a web browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Sound helps, and every lesson is captioned. A few bottles to taste along with makes the tasting lessons more fun, but it is not required.

Does the bundle save money?

Yes. The Complete Series is $69 for all three courses. Bought separately they are $97.
